What better way to define the dynamics of new media than to show it through this blog! My purpose is to showcase aspects of new media as I learn and create my own content for a college course I am taking this semester. I am a Professional and Technical Communication student at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee. This Spring 2020 semester I enrolled in a course called “New Media for Technical Communication” because understanding new media is vital to my future. Professional and technical communicators must adapt to changes in media, test the many theories, and evolve the media they are communicating through in order to deliver clear messages to people as effectively as possible. During the first week of this course, I realized that defining new media can be tricky because of its history, complexity, and developments. Thankfully, I am learning from many field experts. I am excited to “Show and Tell” you all about it!

The theme of your blog is perfect. The purpose, which is defining new media and creating a portfolio for ENC 3416. Your blog is informative, professional, and you have examples and videos. You also did a great job setting up your links and other technical features of designing. I am very impressed with the work you clearly put into this project. Your initial post does a great job of helping to define new media. Not only do you give multiple views of new media, you also give an extended definition, which I commented on in my first post. Your blog has only improved since! Defining new media CAN be tricky, but you are doing very well at doing so.
The “purpose” post tells the reader(s) exactly what the purpose of the blog is; “showcase aspects of new media” as well as, explaining what new media consists of. From the first time I explored your blog, it has flourished! Your pictures go well with the theme, it is very informative, as stated above, and you have links and videos backing up your posts. You also have your citations correctly formatted. I am pretty excited to see your blog at the end of the semester. Super job so far and keep up the dedicated work!
